Feature
A money manager and money tracker for every account you hold
Chillar's is a free online money manager and personal money tracker. It holds accounts, transfers between them, budgets, loans and planned payments in one ledger, and shows net worth as the sum of every account balance converted to your base currency.
Accounts you choose to count
Each account has its own currency, colour and icon, and a flag for whether it counts towards net worth. A joint account you contribute to but do not own can be tracked without distorting your own total.
Transfers are a single transaction
Moving money between your own accounts writes one transfer row, so it never appears as income on one side and an expense on the other unless you ask for that view. Cross-currency transfers store both amounts, because the rate your bank used is the rate that happened.
A buffer you set yourself
Set the amount you want to keep untouched and the balance screen shows the difference between your net worth and that buffer. You can answer 'can I afford this' without opening a spreadsheet.
What makes a money tracker smart is the arithmetic
There is no language model anywhere in Chillar's, and nothing on any screen is estimated or generated. What a smart money tracker actually owes you is a figure you could hand to an accountant: every amount is stored as an exact decimal, every total is arithmetic over your own rows, and an account whose exchange rate is missing contributes zero and says so rather than quietly assuming a 1:1 rate and inflating your net worth.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my financial data private?
- Your rows are isolated at the database level with row-level security, so a query can only ever return your own data. Chillar's sells nothing to third parties, and it reads nothing from your bank because you never link a bank to it. No ads run on the service today; when they do, your transactions will not be used to target them.
- Can I export everything?
- Yes. A full JSON export contains every row Chillar's holds for you, and filtered views export to CSV, XLSX or PDF. The JSON export imports back into Chillar's, so you can restore from it.
- What is the difference between a money manager and an expense tracker?
- An expense tracker records what you spent. A money manager also tracks what you hold: accounts, transfers between them, loans, planned payments and net worth. Chillar's is both over one ledger, so a balance never has to be reconciled between two separate tools.
- Is there a free money tracker with no paid tier?
- Chillar's is a free money tracker with a single tier. Accounts, transfers, budgets, loans, planned payments, multi-currency support and every export format are included from the first login. Advertising is the intended funding model, and no ads run on the service yet.
